Jacob obtained his degree in Recreation Management from Appalachian State University in May 2007. Jacob fulfilled his internship requirements with Rock Dimensions during the summer of 2006. Since graduating Jacob has continued to work
for Rock Dimensions facilitating the climbing tower and assisting with group climbing and caving trips. Jacob’s climbing career began in his middle school days through trips to the mountains with his family and friends. Since coming to live in Boone, Jacob has become an avid sport climber and bicyclist. His most recent adventure was completing a cross-country bicycle trip via the Transcontinental Bike Route, a journey that lasted from June to August, beginning in Virginia and ending in Oregon. Jacob has an affinity for the mountains, climbing/caving, and anything spontaneous. In May 2008 Jacob completed the Climbing Wall Instructor training through the Professional Climbing Instructors Association (PCIA) and in October 2008 he achieved his Top-Managed Climbing Instructor certification with the PCIA.
